Standardized Testing

Preparing for SAT, ACT and AP tests is challenging, especially for students that lack the resources to take test prep courses. College Rising provides scholarships and grants that help students to receive professional test prep in their own communities.

College Applications

Preparing for college applications and selecting the right schools can be challenging, especially if you’ll be the first in your family to attend college. College Rising connects you with counselors that help you to prepare and position you at your best.

Enrollment and Financial Aid

Navigating the admissions and financial aid process is daunting and complex. College Rising partners with organizations within your communities that help you. A strong application helps you to reach dreams and maximize financial aid.

College Success

Preparing for college begins at an early age. College Rising partners with organizations and after-school programs that are committed to helping students succeed. Our mentors help students to meet the challenges of college and graduating.

Helping Students in Every Community

Our focus is local. We help kids to connect with the right resources within their local communities to help them at every stage of the college application process. It takes a village to help a child succeed, and we believe that engaging local organizations and people within communities is the best way to support a child from elementary school to their college application and enrollment journey.

We offer scholarships and grants to help pay for SAT/ACT test preparation and college counseling that are often too expensive for our students to afford.

Our aspiration is national. Under-represented populations exist in every city and town. We believe that our model of partnering locally can be replicated and adopted in every county in America. We empower local teams with the knowledge, tools and financing to launch College Rising in their own city and county.

Help Us Prepare the Next Generation of Graduates

For the 2019-20 school year, more than 3.7 million seniors are expected to graduate from high school, including 3.3 million students from public schools and 0.3 million from private schools. On average, 66% of graduating seniors enroll in college. That means that 1.2 million seniors don’t end up enrolling in college. Help us to reach the hundreds of thousands of underprivileged students in the US  who never make it to college because they simply aren’t prepared or ready to take that step.

How We Are Helping Students

College Rising is funding a program to help students in Marin City to receive SAT test preparation instruction at their school and in their community. Sage Educators, Bridge the Gap and College Rising have partnered to make this possible.

SAT Test Preparation Instruction

Sage Educators is delivering a seven-week SAT test prep course to ten students that are part of Marin City’s Bridge the Gap College Prep program. These students will receive Sages’s professional instruction and tutoring for both math and verbal. The students will also  take SAT practice tests that simulate the real test in May 2020.

Transportation

Transportation between home, school and testing centers can be a barrier to taking part in college test prep courses. College Rising has partnered with the community to provide transportation for our students to ensure that they are able to meet with tutors and attend test prep classes.
